The second file didn't even display correctly on my screen. After
installing the package 'xpdf-japanese' it displayed perfectly! (I don't
have a printer, so I can't help as much when it comes to this area!
Sorry.)
All in all, great tip. (Yes, I know this is not my problem originally,
but I do play with Japanese PDF files a lot, and sooner or later, I'll
face the same problem, so thanks!)
