Hello.
You shouldn't use HTML e-mails, because there are plenty of people who
can't read them or don't accept them for a number of reasons.
Hoary Hedgehog includes GNOME 2.10. I do not understand what your
problem exactly is. You might used a theme that does not exist or you
lack reading permission on the path to the theme. Try another theme and
if it works, you probably should re-install your theme.
Moving on to your next problem, I do not think that the problem is
actually caused by your configuration file. You may have installed a
kernel module for your graphics card or something like that and it is
not installed anymore, because of the new kernel. But "xfree is not
correctly configured" is not a detailed describtion of your problem and
thus, I am not able to help you. Please add the error message and the
affected part of your configuration file. Furthermore, it could be
useful to know, which hardware you use.
