Did you run the 'kernel' and 'initrd' commands before the 'boot'
command?  More information is at

The Ubuntu kernel should be at /vmlinuz and the initrd at /initrd.img ,
presumably on /dev/hda1 unless you have an unusual physical hard drive
configuration.
