mplayer, gxine plugins for mozilla

OK, tried with gtk2, with no change in results. Perhaps there is
another underlying problem. Though the plugin works, I still have no
control except to change the volume on my desktop. Here's another
wierd thing I have found. When I disable the MS ASF plugin under
Firefox, I find that no matter what I do, I am not able to use any
designated program to replace the plugin. Every time the dialogue box
comes up and I select /usr/bin/gmplayer (or foo for that matter), the
OK button remains grayed out. Anyone else seen this or have a fix?
Thanks in advance.
