icecast sound problem

I upgraded to Breezy last night and now the streaming output (from icecast) 
approaches being unlistenable. It seems to vary from a mild distortion to a 
subsonic/underwater wash. Note that this is not present when I listen to 
.ogg files directly from the HD.
Any thoughts?
