Screen Resolution

Let me tell you my experience. I have just installed a new video card
(Sapphire Radeon 9200) and fitted a new monitor (LG Flatron L1715S).
Before I installed the new card I could not run the monitor at the
optimum resolution (1280 x 1024). On booting after installing the new
card there were certain problems which I did not understand. In less
than 10 minutes, following instructions from my son over the telephone,
I now have exactly what I want. I would not claim to understand what I
did but it was no where near as complicated as some of the stuff I have
read here. Maybe the simplist is the best.
