UBUNTU not a be used as a Server to a SQL backend?

Please, just because ubuntu has the best desktop and desktop
integration of all distros I've tried doesn't make it worse as a
server.  I run a debian-box, updated to warty, updated to hoary as a
server, with web, sql, mail, etc.  No problem.

I don't know anything about firebird but I'm sure that ubuntu is as
good as anything else.
