Firefox nightly builds and coexistence with 1.0.6?

The 'firefox' that you are attempting to run is actually a shell
script that ends up running the system installed one.

Somewhere under your unpacked /opt/firefox you should find a
firefox-bin (it's normally found in /usr/lib/mozilla-firefox/) - run
that directly and you should be able to use both.
