ATI 9000 direct rendering question

Yes, I just install from the Hoary CD and add Universe repositories to
source.list to have another staff.

I check the log file but I don't see why it is not enabled. It is a
large file so I'm not attaching it. If needed I'll do it.

If I uninstall XFfree86 related packages, can I be sure to have a fully
opperational X.org window system?
