Greeting to the list,
Since I'm new to the list I would like to say hello to the list and
congratulate the Ubuntu community for the great work they're doing.
However, I have a problem :
I have just installed my Ubuntu version 5.04 on my PIV 3.0 G HTT with
1024GB RAM and LSI MegaRaid 150-6 RAID Controller.
I have two 160GB disk configured as RAID0. The installation went
perfectly but as soon as I booted my new installed Ubuntu I get the
following error:
SCSI error : <0 0 0 0> return code = 0x40001
end_request: I/O error, dev sda, sector 117527883
Buffer I/O error on device sda6, logical block 4754775
lost page write due to I/O error on sda6
SCSI error : <0 0 0 0> return code = 0x40001
end_request: I/O error, dev sda, sector 1629700
SCSI error : <0 0 0 0> return code = 0x40001
end_request: I/O error, dev sda, sector 967408
EXT3-fs error (device sda2): ext3_readdir: directory #139209 contains a
hole at offset 0
SCSI error : <0 0 0 0> return code = 0x40001
end_request: I/O error, dev sda, sector 967408
EXT3-fs error (device sda2): ext3_readdir: directory #139209 contains a
hole at offset 0
SCSI error : <0 0 0 0> return code = 0x40001
end_request: I/O error, dev sda, sector 967408
EXT3-fs error (device sda2): ext3_readdir: directory #139209 contains a
hole at offset 0
SCSI error : <0 0 0 0> return code = 0x40001
and my file system goes in read-only mode.
Is this a controller problem, driver problem or a disk problem?.
As for the disks I've check both of the disks in other computer ( I
checked using badbloacks utility ) and the tests run perfectly, utility
was able to read/write on the disk blocks.
I think this might either be a controller problem or driver problem, any
suggestion ?
My apologize if I've addressed the wrong mailing list, if so point me to
the right direction.
Best reagards,
Astrit Zhushi
