Thanks HEAPS for this. I used the URL for warty to extend the list of
 apps and wonder of wonders! ALL the stuff I solely missed from
 Knoppix and FreeBSD magically appeared!
OK, so now I can get nedit, mc, gentoo, xmms, and even kde BUT I don't
want to download kde from the ubuntu repository because (a) it's BIG and
(b) I can download the Debian version locally without bandwidth charge.

What URL would I need? (ftp://ftp.filearena.net/pub/debian certainly,
but there is no equivalent for universe multiverse - or is there?

What I would like is to keep the ubuntu repository for main and
restricted and the local debian one for the rest - is that possible,
using synaptic or aptitude?

Thanks,
Brian
