debian "*.deb" vs. ubuntu "*.deb"

If packages from Debian don't override the ones from Ubuntu, it should be a
safe operation (not likely to break the whole system). Adding the following
to /etc/apt/preferences should do the trick:

Package: *
Pin: release o=Debian
Priority: 200
