I have not tried renaming the file. What I did though, was deleting it
pure and simple. (because I had a backup copy under a different name, so
wasn't taking any risk really ;o)
But that doesn't work. The config tool still won't create the file, and
if I try to start X, obviously it doesn't work, and asks me to configure
the system properly then try again....
