Newbie trying to get totem-xine working minus sudo.

I can get totem-xine to work fine now both with VCD and DVD when I
sudo, but I can't for the life of me figure out to get it to work
without sudo. When I don't sudo, I get the message :

"Totem could not play 'file:///media/sdg4/ffastun.ffo'. The specified
movie could not be found."

Can anyone enlighten me?
