Which must be a detail.
And with the same time you have spend on writing this - you can with the
right repositories install it by:
sudo apt-get install Scribus Inkscape Sodipodi Blender Nvu Fluxbox
and that's it.
However the more time-demanding optimizations could be automized better
with scripts such as:
old_computer.run could start optimizations like that of xubuntu
edu_computers.run could start optimizations like that of edubuntu
new_computers.run could start optimizations for complete new computers
with at least 2.6.12_686 kernels, ACPI, all hdparm parameters for all
drives, etc.selftests for ATI or Nvidia screens etc (with possible stop if
you need propiotare software - of cause).
The scripts has to be explaned carefully so you know what you are doing
first.
