Installing Ubuntu on SATA RAID 0

I'm not sure about that, but if the livecd does not work, odds are good 
that you will have the same problem after installing from the setup cd. 
  I'd say figure out what the problem is with the livecd and get that 
going, then follow the steps in the howto.
