USB key on IBM Thinkpad - Still no luck.

Thank you for the wild shot, but I'm afraid this missed the target, too. It
doesn't seem to have made any difference. The USB flash drive is still not
showing up under Computer.

A friend suggested I modify /etc/fstab to include:
/dev/sda1  /mnt/flash  vfat,ext2,hfsplus  noauto,users,dev  0  0

and creating the /mnt/flash directory. I've done that, but when I try to
mount it using mount /mnt/flash, or by double-clicking the flash icon that
appeared under Computer, I get this error message:
mount: special device /dev/sda1 does not exist

Any suggestions would be welcomed at this point.
