Installing on a Dell Inspiron 4000:
Sound:
I had to tweak alsamixer to get any sound at all, but now the desktop
sound icon is non-functional (set to zero).
GnomeMeeting:
Can't get video at all. No Video manager/plugin option and I can't figure
out how to configure it. Is this a GnomeMeeting problem, or an Ubuntu
problem? I've installed Camorama which finds the webcam without problems.
There are video4linux libraries, but how do I marry them to GnomeMeeting,
assuming that's what's needed?
Sane:
Sane looks for devices and finds nothing, but /proc/bus/usb says that an
AGFA snapscan 1212u is present. I've added my username to /etc/group but
still no go. There seem to be drivers: /usr/lib/sane/libsane-snapscan.so.1
Powerdown:
It doesn't. I have to hold the power button for 5 seconds to power off
after shutdown.
regards...
David.
