Boot from floppy instead of cd-rom

The computer where I'm trying to install Ubuntu
doesn't like to boot from the CD-ROM, so I'm wondering
if there is a way to boot the installation from a
floppy disk (a premade image). Unfortunately it is not
possible for me to perform a network boot, so a floppy
boot would seem as the only possibility.
