Will there be a boot splash like the one in suse, mandrake?

First of all, I want diagnostics only if something is borked, and with
bootsplash, it's only one "ESC" away.
Also, I do want nice boot splash, since Linux still takes ages to load
and I want to look at something while waiting it to load. I don't
notice BeOS splash, since it takes just a few seconds from boot to full
desktop, and even they provided nice boot graphics (r4 boot was text
only, changed in r4.5).
