There was a discussion about this last week - though you may have lost
it in all the discussion about themes.

Unfortunately, due to Gnomesword being in Universe, it's not really
supported and particularly with a release date pending the answer was
- get the source and have a look at it yourself.

After upgrading automake to automake1.8 last night, I left 'apt-get -b
source gnomesword' running last night and haven't had a chance to
check the results, but maybe you should try rebuilding from source. 
Otherwise a listen-in on the gnomesword development mailing list may
be able to point us in the right direction.
