Bibletime, Gnomesword, libsword

I am running ubuntu without any major problems on an Packard Bell ipower
5000 laptop, but a couple fo days ago during one update my installation of
Bibletime and Gnome sword got damaged. I tried a re-install, but realised
that gnomesword is not anymore part of the distribution. What happens is
when I run either of the two programmes I get a message "segmentation Fault"
and the programmes exit without further comment.

Any ideas ?
