Hello,

use the linux-686. It is the best optimized, available kernel for your 
Celeron laptop.

-smp is for multiprocessor machines or for computers with much RAM (more 
than 1GB I think)
-386 is for nearly every 32-bit Intel architecture processor
-686 is for Intel PentiumII and newer and compatible
-k7 is for AMD Athlon K7 and newer AMD processors
