Question for skype users

The way I do it is to use a normal headset that uses 2 jacks. I plug
the mic into the normal mic socket on my sound card then use a jack
splitter for the headphone (about £5). It allows 2 jack plugs
(headphones and speakers) to be plugged into the one socket (front
speaker socket) on sound card. Then when i get a skype call - I hear
it all over the house, and when I answer the call, I jus turn down my
speakers for the duration of the call. Works a treat and costs less
than buying a usb mic and figuring out how to get it to do what you
want.
On another note- I saw a nice jack splitter the other day that had a
little box that you put on your desk - when you press the buton on to
- it cust teh signal from 1 to the other - so you wouldnt even have to
mute the speakers!
(cant remember what it was called and who by though) but it was only £10
