Mulligan: Now see, that when someone replies to my post (which only
questioned merchandising channels) with the following, I have to call
him to task:
David Williamson:
>"And there are a lot of users who wish the team had chosen another
>name, simply because of the juvenile politics and social issue crap
>that go along with the name."
>"I don't want lefty politics and social feelgood on my desktop"
>"Grow up."
So, in the light of those demeaning comments (juvenile, social issue
crap, lefty, grow up) I challenged Williamson off-list. He responded
that he was sorry to offend me "in Christ" - at which point I took the
issue on-list.
I never stated any political opinion in my posts so far and yet I must
"calm down" and endure comments like "grow up", "lefty" and "social
issue crap" in reference to my reasonable concerns. It is that kind (and
your kind) of effort to demean and quieten others' voices that I (and
others on this list) are challenging.
The allegation that I am anti-Christian or anti-American or implying
that "non-Africans are capitalist pigs" is defamatory. I was receiving
support for the reasonable point I raised, whereas Williamson was
instructed by the list moderator to go off-list. You, Mulligan, are also
out of line with your attitude and language, so mind yourself:
increasing your posting's font-size will not make the African
perspective go away.
This matter is going to the Community Council and I will not respond to
any further rhetoric in this regard.
