two modules prism2_usb (kernel vs. linux-wlan-ng)??

If it works don't fix it. As far as I can tell the kernel already has
a lot of these modules built in including some of the wlan-ng ones.
When you install wlan-ng it's going to make sure that the kernel knows
about these modules so you can safely install wlan-ng and nothing will
really change if you have an updated kernel.
you can test this by typing 'modprobe prism2_usb' or modprobing
whatever module you're trying to get working, if it isn't found you
need to install wlan-ng.
Senectus, module information is found in /etc/modules.conf which you
can edit manually or play with through update-modules.
Hope that helps you a bit,
