Problems resolving internet addresses

Hi List!

Two days ago I installed Ubuntu an discovered that this is the most
perfect distro out there. But I have one annoying problem. Every time I
try to access an internet site via Firefox I have a 3-10 seconds delay
until address resolving works. (same in Thunderbird). Address resolving
works fine in Fedora/W2K, so I assume networking hardware (NE2000
compatible) is OK.

Tried different DNS-Server settings but still no luck.

Anyone with the same problem? Or am I doing a simple newbie mistake?
