Ubuntu on Mac G3 B&W not booting

I have installed Ubuntu successfully on two G4 tower models (a "green
button" and a "white button"), and a tray-loading iMac of similar
vintage to your G3 with no problems at all.
I did nothing special when burning the CD (on a PC).
Is it possible it's your media?
