I may be overlooking it, but I don't think you told us which ISO
you're using. Is it the final Warty release hosted on the UK server?
My iMac Ubuntu install is more of a learning experience than anything
else (too slow to do any real work on), but I've installed/reinstalled
from several different aged ISO files including the final Warty
release and have never had any problems.
The area that DID cause me a lot of problems was the CD media issue.
Apparently iMacs are way pickier about quality media than PCs. I
burned a half-dozen discs on my normal media (TDK) and experienced
strange behavior and failure with all of them. When I finally broke
down and used a more expensive blank (Gold Apogee Reference disc),
everything worked perfectly.

I assume you're talking about the Canonical employee and the final
release, as things have been open to the public since the preview
release was announced. I "tested" Ubuntu PPC for a few weeks before
the final release of Warty. I don't know if there's a specific lead
developer for PPC.
