Is aptitude still on the server install?
After reading these emails it makes sense to me to make the desktop edition more "user friendly" for people who know nothing about computers. For instance, my girl friend just installed ubuntu without knowing anything about Ubuntu. How cool is that?
I personally like and use aptitude as well however I some time use apt-get when I don't want the junk that comes with the recommended packages etc. (that last sentence was a bit off topic...)
Ok point being. I feel Ubuntu from day 1 has been trying to make Linux user friendly and as their #1 goal states, take down Windows. (in so many words). I think being the first to add "social" out of the box is a smart move for them. They are staying up to date with the here and now and that's what a good user friendly OS needs to do.
