I don't think windows does partitioning the way linux does, pretty much
everything relies on C:\. We can install ext2IFS drivers (which reads
ext3fs as well as ext2fs partitions. The drivers are pretty stable the
only time they get messy is if power is lost while writing to the the
ext3fs partition. I think that a combination of this and ntfs-3g is the
best way to go. As for a seperate /home so that / doesn't get clogged,
that get's dangerous with only 10gb. Since most of them either a) don't
have internet or b) will have dial-up, a lot of media files probably
won't be a big deal. The lack of internet raises another question, do we
burn them repo dvds so that they can install new software themselves?
that's one of the best parts of Ubuntu is the apt-package management system.
