Not sure if it's related to this, but there's a known bug
<https://bugs.launchpad.net/bindwood/+bug/427622> in Ubuntu's bindwood
bookmarks synchronization package that causes its database to take up
progressively larger amounts of disk space (mine once got to 35 gigs
before I compacted it...)
To see if this is the case, you can check the file sizes in your
.config/desktop-couch directory to see if they're using unusual amounts
of disk space... and if so, you can "compact" the database by opening a
web browser to the file: .local/share/desktop-couch/couchdb.html
