I wanted to make an announcement that I hope a few of you may be interested
in.
The Ubuntu Folding Team is throwing it's first ever Folding Jam! [1] This
will be on Tuesday, November 4th. The Jam is 24 hours of Folding at Home [2]
testing, bug fixing, and generally just a good time! We *are not* limiting
this to only Ubuntu users - we would actually prefer to have people join us
who use other distributions as well! We are going to be testing several
different installation clients, and would like to cover our bases with as
many different Distros as possible. Also, there's no experience required,
and you don't have to be a current folder to help us out!
Our main line of communication for the Jam will be on our IRC channel at
#ubuntu-folding on FreeNode. If you are unfamiliar with IRC, there is a nice
guide to get you started with Xchat (an IRC client that is available for
Linux and Windows). [3]
If you are interested in helping out this great cause, please feel free to
add yourself to the Folding Jam page [1] and join us at #ubuntu-folding on
FreeNode.
Thank you all very much, and the team would sincerely appreciate your
support!
