[Ubuntu Chicago] hardy

I know that Hardy has a problem with GL and I have the
same Problem. I am also having a problem with the
Update Manager and the Add and Remove Apps Programs.
When Each is ran and is trying to run thay go gray but
freezes and stops. I am about 66 updates behind
becouse of this and if and when Gl is fixed I have
know way to fix it. I haven't used Linux long enough
to know how to install packages with out ether
program. I am also experiancing sleep problems and
Hibernation errors but thats not a problem for me. 
I'm running on a Dell Latitude C600 with 256M ram.
Gusty ran great on My laptop and Is still running
great on my desktop. Until Gl and the other problems
are fixed is there a way for me to switch back to
Gusty? I have enclosed a pic of what the System
Monitor is doing and of the update Man. and add/remove
Man. I would also like to know where I can get
instructions on how to network My Laptop and Desktop
together for Internet and file sharing (laptop has
Internet only). Thanks for your Help. Linux rocks!!
