A few things:
First, let us know what type of wireless card, model, built-in, chip
(if that can be determined), etc.
Second, maybe some more detail on the steps you took and any error
messages. One thing I often do when trying new hardware is to connect
it, then see what the system log reported. The system log is located
in /var/log/, however just running "dmesg" at the command line should
be sufficient.
Finally, you might consider researching which cards work with Linux
and just getting one of those. Support the companies that support you.
Also, it doesn't take too many hours before your time is worth more
than a new wireless card.
