Hi Robert!

There are a couple of guys/gals here who have a Dell, so maybe they can chime 
in. However, just a quick couple of questions, and of course you will have to 
use the terminal in order to answer them.

First, what WiFi card are you using? To find this out, at the terminal/command 
prompt type the following and press enter.

lspci

This should give a list of all PCI devices and somewhere in there should be 
your WiFi card. I would almost bet it is a Broadcom device, and unless you 
are lucky you will more than likely have to use NdisWrapper for this setup. 
If you happen to have one of the Broadcom cards that are supported then you 
can use another utility called bcm43xx-fwcutter from the repos to install 
your drivers. Don't worry though, your card will work soon enough. 
NdisWrapper is super easy to setup as it requires Windows XP drivers though 
and there is plenty of documentation to help you along there.
