Right now a majority of our people aren't all the way in the city. We are
working our way towards it though ;) John, I think our collaboration stuff
we will do in the future though will be downtown, probably at your location.
This meeting is a general Ubuntu specific meeting and release party that is
open to any and everyone interested.
The other big reason is the connection to the location as well. Jason has used
it many time for his LAN parties and what not and it will work for us. In the
future however, we will more than likely hold some events in the city. At the
same time, Ubuntu Chicago has members in Michigan, Indiana, and Wisconsin,
and of course they are encouraged to show up as well, but it may not be
feasible for them. I encourage them guys to host their own events as well,
and if possible we can make the trek to visit their events.
