Just out of curiosity, and this is probably irrelevant at this stage, 
but shouldn't the Ubuntu Chicago group meeting in the city of Chicago? I 
take it most of the people on this list aren't city dwellers, but you're 
probably missing your target 'audience' by not having it downtown.  I 
know a lot of folks who would show up if it were in the city.
