Once you find the make that supports linux (as i mentioned hp is a good
bet) you need to factor in the cost of ink--if the printer costs 50£ for
example and the inks only last a couple of months usage it is not
uncommon that you have to replace the set of inks once they run out-and
they may be 40£. If you dont need a colour printer / a new one (as in a
new model not as in new condition) amazon might be worth a look for
laser printers. They are more (sometimes much more) exepensive first off
but the ink lasts much longer-a wiser choice if you print a lot and find
(or have found) that you go through ink cartridges very quickly. However
if you can get something like this :
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-ML-1865W-Black-Printer-Wireless/dp/B004CLVETO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1336590708&sr=8-1

or the hp one for a similar price then you might actually save yourself
a lot of money in ink costs. Note currently using hp officejet pro 8500
with 12.04 with no problems. The cost of laser toner is more but less
per sheet as previously mentioned.
Hope this helped
