[ubuntu-uk] Strange file sharing problem

Ok, when I try to cd to samba, it says no file or directory, even though 
I can see it. I can cd to /lib but that is it.

I wonder if that is why?

but when I do ls -l /var/lib/samba I get

all other directories in that folder are root root

this is what else is in that directory
