Not sure really - have you tried http://wubi-installer.org/?

It all depends on how savvy your Dad is as to how you persuade him I
guess. If you backup all your data then you've nothing to lose. Buying a
second hard drive so that you don't have to repartition your old one
would be an added safeguard.
