Which apps to start with

Team, 

I have spent some few days translating tuxpaint into Bemba ( some 60% done now) in order to gain some experience with translations. I now write to ask the more experienced translators here on which packages to start with translating that will show value faster and also will allow me to ease into the more complex translations without causing too much frustration.
