UbuntuStudio and Windows8

Anybody have any experience with UbS and Windows 8.

Apparently 12.10 is the first rev to handle the secure boot stuff
cramed onto the world by Windows 8.

Does it work? Any know issues? Any tips or tricks?

My friend doesn't want to afford ProTools and would like to run Ardour
on his new Windows 8 pre installed laptop. In the past he used Ubuntu
11 live from usb.
