trying to run my firepod

try running sudo qjackctl and see if you can get JACK running with the
firepod... if it runs as root, you know you have permissions issues... if
not, its hardware related... check out

echo 'KERNEL=="raw1394", GROUP="video", MODE="0664"' |
sudo tee /etc/udev/rules.d/50-raw1394.rules
&& sudo restart udev

from that post...

running JACK as root is only a trouble-shooting step for me...
