FWIW for the Memtests from Ubuntu Quantal and Parted Magic, no RAM is missing too. $ hwinfo --memory Memory Size: 3 GB + 512 MB I've got 4GB - 256MB framebuffer, so the output of hwinfo should be "3 GB + 768 MB".
