It was there in 11.10 too and before. But not 10.04. I don't know when it
changed.

Can you check the Preferred Applications, what is set in the Utilities > File
Manager?

Ok, now booted to 12.04a

File manager is set to nautilus, have rebooted and things are still the
same as above. We are changing to nautilus and wish to remove thunar (I
personally don't care, but US does ;-) ) So sometime soon this should be
fixed. Actually, I would be just as happy with no desktop icons for
anything. But we are trying to make something that windows users
understand so it stays.

May as well answer the mail you just sent too... importing...

Just a quick note, in both 11.10 and 12.04 for some reason this setting
(out of the four) comes unset. Also the web browser comes set to something
not loaded. (debian sensible browser) but still hits Firefox when clicked
with no error.

There was another message about todays (jan20) iso that says it doesn't
load due to missing kernel modules or something. Sounds like low lat made
it through or part way... I may wait a few days :-P
