I'm no dev, but I'd be in favor of seeing compiz become default for
UbuntuStudio.  There are many very useful workflow features that it adds to
the desktop, while also providing the flashyness that attracts many artists
to an OS.  But if that means sacrificing stability, performance, on even one
of the flagship apps (blender), then no.
