But if they remove the architecture, wouldn't sending them the patch be
useless?

I forwarded the patch to upstream though, and they incorporated it for
now. [1]

Are there specific criteria and process for removing architectures? It
seems overkill to me to remove it because of a couple of tests that
didn't consider them.

Bug description:
  Dipy is failing to build[1] because of

    E   ValueError: Little-endian buffer not supported on big-endian
  compiler

  The attached debdiff contains a patch to disable those tests on big
  endian architectures.

  The package then builds as per [2].
