[Ubuntu-SG] June's SLMG is about to get pre-empted

Hi All,

Sorry for all the confusion. We needed to get the AGM before the 3
months expired and decided to postpone the Ubuntu presetnation to July.

If you guys have your agenda for the meeting I can actually update the
SLMG calendar.

BTW, Jaunty rocks. Just installed this weekend and all my previous
wireless problems are fixed, no more drop outs. Firefox 3.5 beta on PPA
is also running great and performance is much improved. there is a new
javascript engine.

Only issue so far are:
1. the compiz/"Visual Effects" performance on Intel integrated graphics
card. I had to turn it off as it was so slow. I can live without that.
can't seem to find xgl package which supposedly enhances the performance.

2. Battery life is very bad. When I first tested XP on the new system I
was getting about 4.5 hours. With Ubuntu I was getting 2.5 hours. This
appears to still be the same in Jaunty.

Perhaps some tips on solving this would be good.
