Here's strace. Unfortunately, there's some serious bugs floating around
causing dbus and other software to fail at the moment (see bug #384409,
for example) and dpkg did not quit. It was unresponsive, so I closed the
terminal window. It's still running in the background.
I don't think it's completed running (and never will), and I didn't get
the same error. It could be some other package that continued to run in
the background (can/do they do that???) that caused this issue. If you
don't see anything unusual in strace, you might as well mark the bug as
Invalid, since this'll be like searching for a needle in a haystack
AFAICT.
